The Contentsquare Foundation launches first large-scale European study into disabled people’s use of AI
Paris, 21 September 2026 — The Contentsquare Foundation, publisher of the annual Digital Accessibility Barometer, has launched a first-of-its-kind European survey exploring how people with disabilities are using AI tools in their daily digital lives: what genuinely helps, where it falls short, and whether it’s becoming a real accessibility enabler or simply a workaround for websites and apps that have yet to meet the requirements of the European Accessibility Act.
The survey, developed with UX and accessibility research agency Web Usability, builds on early qualitative research with disabled participants, which found that mainstream AI tools are already changing how some disabled people navigate everyday digital tasks.
The survey is open now to disabled people across Europe. It takes no more than 10 minutes to complete, and responses are anonymous. Results will feature in a dedicated Contentsquare Foundation report on AI and accessibility, published as a companion to the Foundation’s 2026 Digital Accessibility Barometer.
